Dr. Jonathan "Josh" Kindred, the medical Dr Josh Kindreddirector and owner of Kindred Spirits Animal Clinic, is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Stetson University in DeLand, Fl. In May 2000, Dr Kindred graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida, and began working in Atlanta, GA as an associate veterianrian at a busy, 8 doctor practice. After working several years and gaining some good experience he decided to look for a practice that allowed for a more personal and consistent doctor-patient relationship.

In the fall of 2004, he acquired the Clinic facilities, previously known as Trail Animal Clinic. Dr. Kindred chose the new name, Kindred Spirits Animal Clinic, because it reflects his long-standing belief regarding the relationship between humans and animals.

After several years of ownership he is happy with the decision to purchae the Clinic and to become an owner/veterinarian. "It was very hard work for the first few years; living in my office, working seven days a week; and it continues to be. Lookling back I'm not sure I realized what I was getting into and maybe that was for the best."

Dr Kindred has a little bit more free time these days. He is settling into the community and has recently become an Orlando homeowner.

Michelle serves as KSAC's Hospital Manager and has been with us since mid 2008. She has enjoyed working in the veterinary field since completing a veterinary assistant program in 2003. MichelleMichelle's believes that she has found something rare with us, she says, "I love working here, there is something special about our clinic; everyone on our team is a devoted pet advocate and the clients and patients are treated like family."

Michelle's leisure time is spent connecting with her family, her son, fiancé, 3 dogs and newly acquired ferrets. She also enjoys painting in her spare time. Michelle believes that, "you have to love what you do for a living." From caring for patients to connecting with clients, Michelle says she enjoys every aspect of being a part of our team.

Lisa is our most experienced veterinary technician, working over ten years at this location. Lisa likes to relax at home after work with her pets: two Dachshunds, three Chihuahuas, and three cats She says, "I have a little Noah's Ark at home. They are my life right now." In the last year or so, Lisa has also gotten interested in fish keeping. She has been devouring books and magazines on the subject, and she now has three tanks going with a variety of aquatic life.

Lisa says the thing she likes best about working at the Clinic is "the fact that we can help animals, make them feel better, and make them happy. What else does she think that you might want to know about her? "Just that I'm a very sweet person, and I love animals."

LLindsayindsay joined the KSAC team January 2009 and has loved working with Dr. Kindred, Lisa, and Michelle ever since. "We are an excellent team! In order to enjoy your job you have to have great coworkers and management. And I do."

Lindsay started her veterinary career volunteering at her family veterinarian when she was 12 years old. Since then she has worked at several veterinary hospitals including Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Maitland and the University of Florida's School of Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville. When she moved back to Orlando she decided she wanted a day job with a great veterinarian. "I missed general medicine. Working in specialty and emergency you just don't get the same type of relationships with your clients and patients."

Lindsay lives with her boyfriend, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 bearded dragons. In her free time she likes to do crafts, photography, and taking her dogs to the park. Lindsay feels "what we do is very important, whether we are educating owners on vaccinations, preventative care, or the importance spaying/neutering to handing emergency situations-we are here to be the animal's advocate and that is a gift."
