Surgical Laser Procedures
We perform a wide range of surgical procedures ranging from spays and neuters to more complex emergency, orthopedic, and soft tissue surgeries.
Prior to surgery, we will give your pet a thorough physical examination to help us identify any existing medical conditions that will need to be taken into account. We recommend pre-anesthetic blood work to help us evaluate organ function and identify conditions that may not be evident in a physical examination. These evaluation procedures can greatly reduce the risks associated with anesthesia and surgery by giving us a more complete picture of your pet’s health as well as allowing us to choose the anesthetic options most appropriate for your pet.
We are one of the first veterinary clinics in the Orlando area to offer you the option of laser surgery, a state of the art technique that reduces post-operative pain and speeds recovery. The procedure uses focused laser light, rather than a scalpel blade, to incise skin and soft tissue. This provides immediate cauterization of vessels and nerves, dramatically decreasing bleeding during surgery and reducing inflammation and swelling after surgery.
We closely monitor your pet during all anesthetic procedures. This monitoring is the best way to ensure your pet's safety while under anesthesia. We continuously monitor blood pressure, electrocardiogram (EKG), heart rate, temperature, respiration rate and blood oxygen saturation level.
